Golden Is The Target

In 1938, Adolph Hitler issued covert directives to all American fascist cells in the US Antisemitic persecution was to mirror that going on in Europe. The American German Bund and several influential newspapers blamed the Great Depression and current public political unrest on the Jews.

One tragic incident occurred in Ranford, Massachusetts. A seventeen-year-old Ranford High School football hero, Joseph Golden, suffered fatal injuries during the last game of his senior year. During a chaotic fourth-down pileup, four of Golden’s teammates produced metal saps and, after pulling his helmet off, repeatedly struck Golden’s bare head. The large pileup obscured the assault from both referees and spectators.

Golden died in his hospital bed from yet another attack by the same four racially motivated players. Joseph Golden was murdered, and the Golden family wanted justice, but justice was not forthcoming.  Under President Roosevelt’s directive to suppress public knowledge of such antisemitic violence, all official records—hospital, police, and FBI—were quietly marked “Inactive.” The Golden family, devastated and determined, vowed to one day reopen the case and hold the killers accountable.

In 1967, Peter Golden—Joseph’s nephew and a respected Anesthesiologist—finds an ally in the hospital’s Chief of Neurosurgery, the same man who treated his Uncle Joe twenty-eight years ago.  A plan is enacted to find and mete out a fate similar to that of Joe Golden to the murderers. To do so, they enlist a group of Israeli operatives to eliminate the killers and must not leave any trail leading back to the Goldens. Only one organization had the precision, experience, and resolve to carry out such a task—Mossad. Their strategy was bold, calculated, and violent. Could Mossad deliver justice without exposing the truth?
