This is a work of short stories I wrote for the San Antonio Writers Meetup. A previous work, COFFEE & A STORY, has a similar origin. With few exceptions, the tales are all 1200 words plus or minus a hundred or more—that only averages three pages per story. My editor compared them to other short story books and reminded me that my stories were really short, short stories. My title, therefore, is COFFEE & ANOTHER SHORT, SHORT STORY. Of the 54 stories, a few are chapters from my newer books or books in progress. At the insistence of Writers Meetup members, I included three sequential chapters of my romantic thriller, The World of Winifred Dorfinkle. If the coffee drinker has time for such a break-time beverage, they truly have time for a short, short tale designed to make your drink productive, induce stimulation of thought, and give the satisfaction of something completed. As brief literary morning or evening pastimes, a short story will also jumpstart your day or provide ammunition for an upcoming dream.
The diversity of genres has been my driving force in my novels. In COFFEE & ANOTHER SHORT, SHORT STORY, I continue drawing from my days in the military, my medical practice and research, romance, holidays, pets, science, fiction, drama, history, crime, terrorism, and thrillers of many dimensions. Storylines are suitable for all school ages and adult life. Reading and writing small literary episodes often become full-length novels. As a writer, I see storylines everywhere and about everything. After you read this book, you might find the spark of writing from your own experiences. Like me, you may not want to take your many life experiences to the grave but rather, leave them for eternity for others to benefit and enjoy.
